Obituary for Wilson Nelson Luther
Wilson Nelson Luther, 84, of Milton, Florida, went to be with Jesus, Monday, October 29, 2018.
Wilson was a native of Canton, North Carolina, and the son of Stella and Nelson Luther. He was a retired Crew Scheduler for Delta Airlines and a member of Pine Terrace Baptist Church where he served in the choir and the Music Ministry office.
He was a devoted Godly man who loved Jesus, loved and honored his wife Betty of 66 years. He taught us how a Godly marriage should be. He modeled it greatly.
He is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hope Reynolds.
Wilson is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Jean Luther of Milton; a son, Michael (Doris) Luther of Milton; a daughter, Pamella (Steven) Jacobs of Brighton, Tennessee, grandchildren, Troy (Sarah) Luther of Milton, Michelle (Chris) Powell of Milton, Laura (Daniel) Reynolds of Bartlett, Tennessee, Jason (Sunny) Griffis of Fairhope, Alabama, John Griffis of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jennifer (Tom) Loyd of Statesville, North Carolina, and Shannon (Phil) Dykhouse of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his great-grandchildren, Dustin Luther of Farmington, Connecticut, Hannah (Brent) Friddle of Milton; Austin Reynolds of Bartlett, Tennessee, Alyssa Ewing of Fairhope, Alabama, Brady Luther of Milton; Gavin Reynolds of Bartlett, Tennessee, Emmalee Powell of Milton; Carson Reynolds of Bartlett, Tennessee, Madison Reynolds of Bartlett, Tennessee, Chase Ewing of Fairhope, Alabama, and William and Daniel Loyd of Statesville, North Carolina; great-great-grandson, Jojo Friddle and an unborn Baby Friddle; his loving and adored sisters, Juanita (Stanley) Briggs of Asheville, North Carolina, Betty Jo Curto of Orlando, Florida, and Shirley Barnwell of Fletcher, North Carolina; loving brother-in-law, Richard (Clara) Israel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Wilson Luther will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Pine Terrace Baptist Church (6612 Pine Blossom Road, Milton, Florida 32570), with Dr. Michael Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Milton, Florida, with Lewis Funeral Home of Milton officiating.
Visitation for friends will be 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.
The family wishes to thank the staff in the West Florida Hospital ER Department for the love, compassion, comfort, and special care shown to us during this difficult time. A special thanks is extended to Clifton Wheeler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to the Pine Terrace Baptist Church Sanctuary Fund (6212 Pine Blossom Road, Milton, Fl. 32570) or to The Parkinson's Foundation (135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10305).

Our hearts are broken but at the same time rejoicing because we know that someday you will greet us with open arms in Heaven. We love you so much.
