Larry Gann, 71, of Milton, died on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, in his home.

Larry was born on Sand Mountain in Dutton, Alabama, and had resided in Milton, Florida, since the age of 11. He was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1965. Larry received a Purple Heart while serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he sold cars for two local dealerships; and then spent thirty years, until his retirement, as an agent for Liberty National Life Insurance Company. He was a member of Pine Terrace Baptist Church; and an avid classic car collector who participated in car shows throughout the area.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Syble Stone Gann; his father, Wayne E. Gann; and mother-in-law, Virginia Mathews.

Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Mathews Gann; daughter, Larinda Gann Moore, and her husband, Joel Scott Moore, of Mobile, Alabama; and his father-in-law, Hank Mathews. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his brother-in-law, Steve, and his wife, Marguerite Mathews; their four sons, Wesley (wife, Jessica), Trent (wife, Sharon), Jeff (wife, Sara), and Dusty (wife Mandy), and all their children.

Lewis Funeral Home in Milton will host a visitation Thursday evening, May 31, 2018, starting with family at 4:00 p.m.; then guests from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Dr. Mike Wiggins officiating. His pallbearers will be his nephews, Wesley, Trent, and Dusty Mathews, along with Wes Malone, who was like a Godson to Larry. His honorary pallbearers will be his lifelong high school friends, Glenn Price, Roger Malone, and Gene Wessinger; his best friend from Liberty National, Don Wiggins; and his best friend from car club, Steve Blalack. His friends from area classic Car Clubs are invited to participate in Larry’s service by driving their cars in procession, after the service, from Lewis Funeral Home to the burial at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Milton.
