Obituary for Frances Timmons Cooley

Frances Timmons Cooley
Frances Lovelace Timmons Cooley
August 22, 1971-February 21, 2018

Frances Timmons Cooley, 46, of Milton, passed away on February 21, 2018, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Born in Milton, Frances was a graduate of Milton High School and Pensacola Junior College. She continued her studies at the University of Florida, completing her bachelor's degree at the University of West Florida. Frances worked as a realtor for D.R. Horton, where she served many families in the Milton and Pace community.

Anyone who came into contact with Frances was struck not only by her dynamic and vivacious personality but mostly by the love she had for her children, Hayes and Harper Joan. To say they were her world cannot capture the devotion she had for them. Frances was a true friend to so many, generous in spirit and love. Her family will surely find solace in the knowledge that she was loved by so many and in the happy memories that will last eternally. Hers was the most indomitable of spirits. In this, she had no rival.

Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Parker Timmons; her maternal grandparents, James and Jess Parker; her paternal grandparents, Samuel and Susan Timmons; and nephew Dexter Blackmon.

Frances leaves behind to cherish her memory two beautiful children, Hayes and Harper Joan Cooley; husband Chip; father, William Timmons, Milton; sisters Joni Timmons Harrison (George), Tallahassee; Suzy Timmons Harris (Howard), Winter Park; Alexandra Timmons (Craig Blackmon), Milton; nephews Parker Harris (Molly), Winter Park; Tyler Harris, Winter Park; Payne Cook, Tallahassee; Grant Harris, Oxford, Miss., as well as many other extended family members.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Baptist Hospital SINU and Shands Hospital, who provided the utmost care and comfort for Frances and her family, as well as the multitude of friends for their support during this tragic time in our lives.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 27, from 5-8 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Milton with a private burial to follow.

A scholarship fund for Hayes and Harper Joan Cooley has been established at Navy Federal Credit Union.
