Carl Vernon Rexrode, 93, of Milton passed away Friday, January 12, 2018, at his home.



Mr. Rexrode was a native of West Virginia and was a retired USN Chief Petty Officer with over 40 years in active and reserve duty. Carl and Ellie were living in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina damaged their home forcing them to relocate. They have had a home in our area since that time.

Carl was a Mason of the Masonic Lodge, with membership in the Beckley Lodge in Beckley, West Virginia.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elinor Virginia “Ellie” Rexrode of Milton; two nieces; and one nephew.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Mike Poston officiating, and Navy Honors and Masonic Rites. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., prior to the services.

A Private Burial will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery.
