Alice Mae VanDyke, 95, of Pensacola, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Alice was born December 13, 1921, in Mulat, Florida, to the late Benjamin Franklin and Callie Australia Suggs. She married Herbert Henry VanDyke, Sr. in 1946; and in 1986 they purchased Carroll’s Furniture Store in Pensacola. Together they started two churches, Gospel Lighthouse Church on 12th Avenue in Pensacola, and the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Chumuckla. They raised and loved a large family.

Alice is survived by a host of children, grandchildren, relatives and dear friends, which will miss her deeply.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Visitation will be held 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Burial will follow services in Milton Cemetery.
