1926 – 2014
Leo Henry Vogt of Milton died May 8, 2014 at home. He was born in the Portage De Sioux, MO. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton. Mr Vogt was 87 years old and had resided in Milton for 41 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II for 4 years. He worked as super intendant for St. Louis Die-casting for 20+ years. He was a pipe-fitter for Brown and Root Company and all of his life as a builder. He moved to Florida and built and owned Safari Campground on I-10 and SR87 in 1973.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Marilyn and six children, four sons and two daughters. Son, Dan of Dallas, TX, Alan (Ann) of Live Oak, FL, Craig (Dara) of Milton and son Bryan (Cindy) of Orange City, FL. Daughter, Cheryl (Tom) of Milton, Gina (Alan) Berkwitt of Issaquah, WA. Fourteen grandchildren, Rick Roberts, Kim (Shawn) Frasier, Kelly Dingler, Eric (Sheena) Vogt, Matthew Vogt, Andrew Vogt, Amy (Luis) Vogt, Leah Vogt, Brandon Vogt, Brianna Vogt, Brayden Vogt, Ethan Berkwitt, Graham Berkwitt and Olivia Berkwitt. Fifteen great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Lew Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13th.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 14th with Rev. Michael Reed officiating at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton. Burial will follow in Serenity gardens Cemetery in Milton.
