Obituary for Joan Adkinson Lites
Joan Adkinson Lites, 72, of Valdosta, Georgia, and formerly of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at South Georgia Medical Center.
Joan was born on December 15, 1947, in Century, Florida, to the late Herbert and Buris Ward Adkinson. She was a retired Registered Neonatal ICU Nurse; and a member of Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was an avid reader, loved to travel and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Tommie Lites; her son, Jason Alexander Lites; her brother M.E. Adkinson; and her sister, Jean Singletary.
Joan is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Jana Lites of Hahira, Georgia, and Jonathan Lites of Hillsboro, Oregon; two grandsons, Connor Lites and Brandon Lites, both of Hahira, Georgia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet and Steven Benton of Pace, Florida, and Dee Reeves of Pensacola, Florida; one brother, Dennis Adkinson of Jay, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Calvary Baptist Church, (5405 Calvary Church Rd Milton, Florida 32570). Graveside services will follow, with Lewis Funeral Home of Milton directing.
Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the services.
