Obituary for April Renee Vihnanek
April R. Vihnanek, 51, of Walnut Hill, Florida, went to her eternal place of rest, Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
April was a native of Bossier City, Louisiana, and was the middle of three children born to the late Jerry and Sue Smitha. She was a graduate of Pensacola Junior College with a degree in nursing. She found her professional calling as a labor and delivery nurse, finding joy in ushering new life into this world!
April is survived by her husband of 26 years, Marc Vihnanek, Sr.; two sons, Marc “MJ” and Joshua; two brothers, Clark Smitha and Sean Smitha; and a sister, Rhonda Spring.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton (6405 Hwy. 90 West, Milton, Florida 32570)
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Charles Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow services in Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alexander Brown, and the staffs of Sacred Heart Hospital and Covenant Hospice, for the love and care given to their wife, mother, sister and aunt during the time of her illness. The family requests memorial donations be made in April’s name to Covenant Care.
