Kathy Lynne Houston, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018, after an extended illness.

Kathy was born in Milton, Florida, June 30, 1963. She graduated from Pace High School in 1981 and from University of West Florida in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education. Kathy spent her life doing what she loved, working with children, serving in daycares in the roles from Director to Teacher.

Kathy was preceded in death by her Dad, O.L. “Buddy” Nims, earlier this year.

She is survived by her Momma, Myrtis Nims, of Pace, Florida; a sister Diane Wheeler, of Pensacola, Florida; a brother, Michael Nims, of Pace, Florida. She is also survived by a nephew and two nieces, whom she adored, Evan Wheeler (Christina), of Atlanta, Georgia, Samantha Nims (Chaz), of Pensacola, Florida, and Heidi Wheeler, of Gainesville, Florida; two aunts and many close cousins. She is also survived by close friends, Kay Kay, Connie, Barbara and Tori.

Kathy had a love of the Florida Gators and rarely missed their games. She had friends and cousins that shared her love as well as some that verbally sparred with her, loving every minute of it. As Kathy always said, “Go Gators!!”

Visitation for Kathy will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, Florida (5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for family.)

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2018, at the Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery Gazebo, in Chumuckla, with Brother Jeff Leake officiating. In case of inclement weather, Friday’s service will be held at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton.
