Obituary for Jackie Sue Watts

Jackie Griffin Watts, 78, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018.
Jackie was born and raised in Walker County, Alabama. She was the youngest of ten children born to the late John Thomas and Flora Speegle Griffin. She was retired from the Escambia County Board of Education where she was employed as a Secretary for 20 years.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her loving companion, Jerry Farquhar, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; two daughters, Leigh Ann (Tom) Lambert of Cullman, Alabama, and Kim (Dustin) Parrett of Gulf Breeze, Florida; three granddaughters, Julie (Evan) Akins of Saucier, Mississippi, Jill (Jordan) Meggs of Cullman, Alabama, and Kendall Parrett of Gulf Breeze, Florida; two great grandchildren, Priscilla Akins and Max Meggs; one sister, Jimmie Ann Minor, of Pensacola, Florida; and many loving friends and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Navarre, Florida, with Reverend Evan Akins officiating, Lewis Funeral Home directing.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Gulf Breeze Hospital and Emerald Coast Hospice for their amazing care and support.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
