Paul Howard Patterson
“Our Rock”
Paul Howard Patterson, 66, of Milton/Pace, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018.
Paul Howard Patterson was born June 18, 1952, in Brownsville, Texas; and as a teenager, moved with his family to Milton, Florida, and graduated from Milton High School in 1972.
He married his high school sweetheart, Rita Cumbie, in 1972, and followed his passion for automobiles, which led him to pursue a career as an automotive mechanic. In 1982, he fulfilled his dream and opened Patterson’s Automotive in Pea Ridge, Florida. While establishing his career, he and Rita began a family.
Paul built a successful business while maintaining the life of a true family man. He truly valued spending time with his family and providing for those he held so dearly. He always remained the backbone of his family.
Although he gave much of his time to his family, he also developed many life-long friends. Paul spent his free time living life to the fullest with family and friends while enjoying his passion for hunting and fishing, but his greatest passion was building and racing mud trucks with his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Eva Marie Solomon (Patterson) Huthchinson, Thomas Wesley Patterson II, and Charles Mack Huthchinson.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 46 years, Rita; a son, Paul David (Amanda) Patterson; a daughter, Lisa Marie (Brandon) Snellgrove; four grandsons, Trevor Patterson, Landon Snellgrove, Peyton Patterson, and Brantley Patterson; one “adopted” grandson, Dakota Busbee; three brothers, Roy, Tom (Alice), and Raymond (Lynda) Patterson; and two sisters, Pearl Patterson and Marie (Jesse) Harris.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel (4777 West Spencerfield Road, Pace, Florida 32571).
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel, with Dr. Jim Waters officiating. Burial in Cumbie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Christopher Rushing, Cameron Patterson, Wesley Patterson, Jonathan Harris, Nicholas Patterson, Dakota Busbee, Jason Beaudry and John Beaudry
Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Plant and Nicky Walker
The Patterson family would like to acknowledge with sincere appreciation all the expressions of kindness and support during this difficult time of sorrow.

If you believe in Jesus Christ and live a life of giving, when you get to Heaven the best reward will be; Brother Paul awaiting so excitedly to greet you!
Brother Paul was a fixer, he never let up at his auto shop, at home, or with play. He was a fixer of everyone’s everything; no matter how hard or impossible. There is no doubt he stopped and checked the hinge bolts on the Pearly Gates of Heaven! He can now rest his tools; his work on earth is done.
The Bible tells us if you believe in Jesus and live a righteous life, you will go to Heaven. Your sickness and pains will be gone.
As much as Brother Paul loved to play, he is now with those that preceded him, shaking hands and trotting about with excitement.
Our dear Brother Paul will be at the gates waiting to greet you with open arms and fix what needs mending!
