Condolence From: Carole Magaha Barnes
Condolence: So sorry for the loss of Wayland. I will miss conversing (and jousting) with him on the Jay Historical page. He has been there my whole life from childhood on at First Baptist, living next door to my best friend in town, Good to see him with you at class reunions Hilda. I loved teasing him as Thunder Horse and he clarified my report from Ancestry that I was part Creek Indian despite their report. He was a real historian for my home town and such a caring son to his mother. I don’t they make many like him anymore. So sorry for his loss to you Hilda, as well as his family. He left a great legacy of caring. Love, Carole

Condolence: So sorry to hear about this. Wayland was a good man, certainly one who could be described as "larger than life." He was an independent thinker and a fine principal. May God bless you, Hilda, and the entire family.

Condolence: Wayland was the greatest boss you could want. He always had our backs even if he didn't totally agree with us. He has left a large impression on many students and those in the education field. He will be greatly missed. Prayers for Hilda, Anji and Shane. RIP Boss. See you again one day in Heaven.
