Obituary for Edward William Cahill Sr.

Edward William Cahill Sr. February 3, 1942 - September 20, 2018

Edward (Ed) William Cahill Sr., left this world on September 20, 2018 with his daughter, Joy and son, Ed by his side.

Ed was born to Harold and Kathryn (Walsh) Cahill on February 3, 1942 in the state of New York. He grew up with his family in Brooklyn, New York, where he would meet his future wife, Patricia (Pat) Duffy when he was 14 years old. Ed and Pat were married on August 4, 1962 and were married for 54 years. Ed joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Ed and Pat were blessed with 3 children, Joy, Edward Jr., and Traci. After completing his military service, the family moved to Florida and finally settled in Milton in the mid 70’s. Ed and Pat were always involved with the youth sports while their children were growing up and also involved with their church, St Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Ed was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife (Pat), his father and mother (Harold and Kathryn), sister (Kathy), uncle (Willard), and sister in-law (Nancy).

He is survived by his 3 children, Joy (Tracy) Baldwin of Milton, Ed (Rebecca) Cahill of Milton, and Traci (Jerry) Downs of Hastings, Mi. He is also survived by his siblings, Paul (Mary) Cahill of Nevada, Harold (Nancy) Cahill of New York, and Helen (John) Miley of New Jersey, and of along with 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Santa Rosa Health and Rehabilitation Center and Covenant Hospice who took care of our father for a number of years. A special thanks to his most favorite nurse, Hermine Hall.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Lewis Funeral Home.

Wednesday September 26, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Visitation 9am

Rosary at 10am

Funeral service at 10:30

Graveside service will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery, with full military honors following the service.
