Obituary for Kenneth Seldon West

Kenneth Seldon West
Kenneth Seldon West, 82, peacefully passed away on September 19, 2018, at his home after a long illness.

Ken was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on February 24, 1936, where he later met and fell in love with his wife, Adelle. They were married on September 3, 1955. Soon after their wedding, he went overseas where he proudly served in the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, he fulfilled his dreams of owning his own business. That is when “Ken's Trash to Treasures” was created. Ken was a gypsy at heart and loved his life-long adventures on the road.

He was a kind, caring, generous man. He truly enjoyed helping others, especially when they were down and out. His purpose, and greatest joy, was to ensure the happiness of his family, whom he loved so very much.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his loving wife, Adelle M. West; his parents, Orville Seldon West and Florence Elsie Esther Wisch; and two brothers, Allen Paul West and Russell West.

Ken is survived by: his loving children, a son, Guy (Gracie) West of Los Angeles, California; his daughters, Kristine (Bob) Upshaw of Pace, Florida, Marleana (Don) Groundwater of Palo Cedro, California, his twin daughters, Lisa (Daryl) Alberti of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Laura (Roberto) Fernandez of Milton, Florida; two brothers, John Reyna of Franklin, Wisconsin, Ronnie Reyna of Cudahy, Wisconsin; three sisters, Bonnie Mehling of Golden Valley, Nevada, Dolly Kabosky of Waterford, Wisconsin, Denise Poniewaz of West Allis, Wisconsin; his nieces, Denise Fox of Tavares, Florida, Robin Hirschfeld of Waterford, Wisconsin, Joleen Reed of Lakeside, California; his loving grandchildren, Jason Upshaw, Marcella West, Scot and Lynn Groundwater, Brandon, Andrea, Phillip, Jandelle and Jenna Alberti, and Robert and Nicholas Fernandez; and his great-grandson, Vincent E. Fernandez.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel (4777 West Spencerfield Road, Pace, Florida 32571.) The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., prior to the services.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2018, at Barrancas National Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Please meet the family at 10:30 a.m., in the parking lot of Olive Baptist Church Warrington Campus (103 W. Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32507); we will leave the church parking lot promptly at 10:50 a.m. to travel to the base.

Our heart-felt gratitude goes to the staff of Covenant Hospice of Milton, for their compassionate care of our father. We would also like to thank our family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.

Friends and family may send condolences and share fond memories with the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.net.
