Syble Montez (Land) Lee, 96, of Pensacola, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
Syble was born July 24, 1922, in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Syble was blessed with five brothers and four sisters. She graduated from Jay High School, and played on the girl’s basketball team.
She married James Lee and from that union came five daughters, Annie Doris, Dorothy, Mary Helen, Hazel, and Judy. She was a stay at home wife, and mother. She sewed all her children’s clothing, and always prepared three hot meals every day.
Syble was a born again Christian. She raised her children in church, and was an active participant when they were young. Her love of God continued to grow, as she aged. She studied God’s word every day. She lived her life by example, not words. She was a member of East Brent Baptist Church, along with many of her family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Lee; her precious daughter, Doris; both of her parents; two sons-in-law, Cullen Sanders and Edward Griffiths. Ailene Burgess is her only living sibling, the others are already with the Lord.
She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with her pastor whom Syble loved with all her heart, Dr. Dale Patterson, officiating. Burial will follow services in Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
