Condolences

Condolence From: Alice Shaffer Shepherd
Condolence: Kelly and Shea have lost someone very dear to them. They loved their dad and enjoyed spending time with him when there chances to do so. He loved that they wanted to spend time with him, and knew that his passing would be hard for them. They maintained a closeness throughout the years that will give the girls comfort in this sad time.

Condolence From: Chip Boes
Condolence: Am honored to represent the Miracle Strip Officials Association in expressing our group heartfelt condolences to the Bryant Family.Stan officiated with our association for many years. His passion, integrity and character was so outstandingly displayed as a "caretaker of the sport". Served as a mentor to the new officials and an adviser to the experienced. We are better as individuals and as an association because of him. Rest in peace good friend.

Condolence From: Randall Mancuso, Sr.
Condolence: I’ve been friends with Stan since 1978, when we were stationed at England AFB together. We played fast pitch softball together and were part of the most successful team that the USAF ever fielded. He was a big brother to me ever since. I loved it when he called me “big boy”. I will miss him so much, but will never forget him.

Condolence From: Geof Thilking
Condolence: I first met the man who would become a dear friend and a mentor at the iconic Cub Lounge in Shreveport, where he was a well-known fixture. I had always wanted to officiate baseball and basketball, and had just finished working a season in SPAR, the city's recreational league. To commemorate that milestone, my mother made me a shirt that read BASKETBALL REFEREE in needle point. I'd barely walked in when this guy flies over to me and asks if I really was a referee. I explained my situation to him and he proceeded to tell me that I WOULD be joining the local high school association! I didn't know what to think of him at first, especially a stranger sporting white, patent leather loafers(his friends know what I'm talking about)! Then, as if we were lifelong friends, he bought my drinks for the rest of the night! It has been often stated, ad nauseam about many, but it was so true with Stan: The man NEVER knew a stranger! He would easily talk to anyone about anything, especially refereeing, insurance, and Florida, and, more often than not, leave them with a smile!
My thoughts and prayers also go out to his wife Jerri, his children, and the rest of the family! Farewell, my General...I will miss everything about you!
