Obituary for Ronald O "Easy" Alford

Ronald O "Easy" Alford
Ronald Orlando Alford, 69, of Milton, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, in Montgomery, Alabama.

Ronnie, or “Easy”, as he was known by his friends and family, grew up in Bagdad, and was a life-long resident of the Milton area. He was a graduate of Milton High School. Ronnie was drafted in the Army and didn’t want to leave the country before marrying his sweetheart, Hazel Andrews. They married and shortly after he left for Vietnam. Ronnie and Hazel were married one month short of 45 years. When he returned home, he worked at Whiting Field and Pensacola NAS until retirement due to health issues.

“Easy” loved vintage cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed restoring old cars and building hotrods. He made many friends, local and out of state, sharing, trading and restoring these cars and motorcycles. He was a true friend to all that knew him and had a heart of pure gold when it came to helping someone in need. You could always count on Easy!

Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Andrews Alford; his parents, Henry and Emily (Jenkins) Alford; his beloved baby sister, Amelia Sue Alford; and one step-child.

Ronnie is survived by one sister, Wanda Watts, and one niece, Meghan, both of Tallahassee, Florida. He is also survived by eight children, many grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Mike Poston officiating. Burial will follow services in Bagdad Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be: Marty Davis, David Wolfe, Michael Kapotsy, Keith “Red” Sorrell and Amos Andrews.
