Condolence From: Ryan Olive
Condolence: I am so very sorry for your loss. I want to thank you for for sharing Bill with us in Panama City these last few years. His quick wit and personality will be missed. His unparalleled knowledge of fuels will never be replaced. I have learned so much from him. Rest In Peace.

Condolence From: John Floyd
Condolence: I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Thompson family. I first met Bill over 30 years ago in 1987 at a conference in Sasebo, Japan when we were both First Class Petty Officers. We subsequently served aboard USS MIDWAY where I was privileged to have him sponsor me to Chief and pin my anchors. I was fortunate to synch with Bill numerous times over the years and again when he relocated to Milton and we both transitioned to our second careers with NAVSUP. I will forever remember Bill as a trusted confidant and mentor who was passionate about improving processes and those around him; he definitely left his mark. Farewell “Wild Bill”.

Condolence: To the Thomson family, I am very, very sorry for your loss and I pray that all the good memories and time will heal your pain soonest. I had the honor and the privilege to work alongside Bill on many efforts over the years to better our facilities. I respected his professionalism, knowledge, work ethic, and his friendly nature, but most of all, I ultimately realized his depth of caring. He left every place he served a little better for him being there and it was the same for his time at NSA Panama City. Bill, thank you for the memories - I will not forget you and our time working together and your faithful service to this great country, right up until the end. God Bless and RIP.

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers go out to the Thomson Family. I had the pleasure of working with Chief Thomson some 20+ years ago (my first chief) and most recent at the NAVSUP Energy Office. 20+ years later I still found myself calling him the Chief. Bill was well respected amongst the ABF community, as a leader and friend. He will be missed. Farewell my friend, rest in peace!

Condolence: My condolences to the family. I had the peasure of serving with Bill during my first tour as a newly commissioned Chief Warrant Officer. I reported aboard the USS Midway not knowing a thing about my job. Bill was among those I had to learn from he was the Chief who immpressed me the most. He was a tremenous help to me and through his knowledge and abilities, I learned what it took to be a successful Naval Officer on the oldest aircraft carrier. May he rest in peace!
