William Joseph Thomson
William Joseph Thomson, 58, of Milton, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018.
Mr. Thomson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He retired as a Master Chief from the United States Navy with over 31 years of service to his country (1978 – 2009). He has lived in the Milton, Florida, area for the past nine years, after moving here from Sasebo, Japan.
While in the Navy, his Shore Duty included: Iwakuni, Marine Corps Air Station. Atsugi; COMFAIRWESTPAC, Pensacola; Naval Air Technical Training Center. His Sea Duty included: USS Ranger; USS Saratoga, USS Midway, USS John F. Kennedy, and USS Essex.
After retiring from the Navy, he went to work with the Fleet Logistics Center of Jacksonville, Florida, with the Panama City Detachment.
Mr. Thomson was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kenneth Thomson; and a brother, Ronald Spain Thomson.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Grace Thomson; four sons, Richard, Joshua, Jonathan, and Christopher; three daughters, Maria, Sereena, and Misty; four brothers, Michael, Kyle, Ronnie and David; three sisters, Peggy, Ruthann, and Karen; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service, with U.S. Navy Military Honors, will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Father Hank Lech, of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, officiating and Lewis Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018, prior to services at the Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
