Obituary for
John Lee Furber II
John Lee Furber II, age 72, went home to be with the Lord and Savior, Thursday, June 28, 2018.
John loved everyone and he never met a stranger. He always made people laugh and lit up every room with his smile. He was a valued member of his community.
He was born March 8, 1946, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to the late John Lee Furber Sr. and Vera (Kukkola) Furber. John spent 48 years of his life in the Dorset/Jefferson area of Ohio. He was a 1964 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School. He joined the Air Force in 1968 and fought in Vietnam. He worked at the RMI Titanium Plant until its closure. John moved his family to Florida in 1994 and worked for the Okaloosa County School Board at Wright Elementary for 18 years before retiring. After his retirement he worked for ABM at Holley Navarre Intermediate and Primary schools in Santa Rosa County. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Pierpont Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
John deeply loved his wife of 51 years, Joyce Furber; his children, John Lee III (Michell), and grandchildren, Miranda Lynn and Justin Lee; and his second son, Jayson Arthur (Alison), and grandchildren, Emilee Joi, Karlie Jae, and Fabian Joseph; and several cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2018, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gulf Breeze. Friends and family are invited. Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel, has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4257 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, Florida 32563.
