Condolences

Condolence From: Edith Colleen Hall-Gibson
Condolence: Semper Fi is the Marine Corps Motto. It means, "always faithful!' Dale Hall joined the Marine Corp in the early 1950's and for the rest of his life Dale Hall was, "always faithful."
Always faithful to the people he knew.
Always faithful to his parents, sisters and brothers.
Always faithful to all his extended family.
Always faithful to his two sons Michael and Steve.
Always faithful to their families and to his grandchildren.
Most of all Dale Hall was always faithful to his loving wife Joann Johnson Hall.
Married in 1956, Joann and Dale have never been out of earshot from each other since their wedding day over 62 years ago.
They completed each others sentences.
Theirs was a marriage that we all hope for, a marriage made in heaven.
Uncle Dale has been always faithful to his sister Colleen Gibson, my Mama. Colleen is the oldest of the Hall children. Uncle Dale was the oldest son. Mama and Uncle Dale had a special relationship. Uncle Dale, "looked out" for Mama his whole life.
The Gibson's moved into a house on Stringtown Road in 1956. We had no utilities lights, water, heat. nothing. After sometime, we got a manual pump put down. After several months of pumping for bathe, wash clothes and drinking, Uncle Dale put in an electric pump and ran water into our kitchen. This was a highlight of my Mama's life. She has mentioned this many many times over the course of my life. In fact if I had a dollar every time she has bragged about this selfless act by Uncle Dale-I'd be rich. Uncle Dale has always been faithful to his oldest sister. She would be here today if she were able, but at 94 it has become difficult for her to go almost anywhere. Uncle Dale and Aunt Joann she ask me to say thank you one more time and to please forgive her for not being here. She wanted me to tell you Aunt Joann all the love she has felt and that not to feel too badly. You have had a wonderful life together and Uncle Dale is in heaven. He is looking down and will continue to watch over you. Uncle Dale lived Semper Fi and he is in heaven but he is and will forever be always faithful.

Condolence: What is the measure of a man?
You can not know unless it is required of you to stand in the breech between death and life.
The measure of a man, is the potential love yet to be manifested,
The pieces of wood, the pieces of iron pipe, the pieces of PVC pipe, the tools, the things of past, Present and future. The precut bird houses by the bucket load waiting to be put together. The home-grown Gourd’s waiting to be formed for the little birds of the air.
The stripes of cloth. The bottles and cans of chemicals, the bags of garden chemicals. The implements of a laborer.
His “outside” clothes, boots and shoes, and the same for the kids who toughed along by his side.
Among his tools, where toys for the kids. A 4-10 shot gun in case a pest should come along.
Surprise household items to make his wife and his environment easier.
His clothes and shoes given to help others of need. You come to realize, how can a man which such small feet, have such a heart beyond measure!?

I ask prayer for his wife, who is under labor beyond measure!

Condolence: We were and still are sadden to hear about the passing of Uncle Dale. Uncle Dale and Aunt Joann have always been such amazing individuals not only to me, but especially my grandmother, Uncle Dale’s sister, Colleen. Michael and I were fortunate enough to spend time with them recently. Besides the delicious food they made us (Uncle Dale made beef in the crock pot that just melted in your mouth and the homemade cream corn was awesome!) it was also wonderful to see the interaction between Uncle Dale and Aunt Joann. After so many years there was still that sparkle and love in their eyes as they teased at each other and told stories about when they were younger. The love and commitment between them and for their family has always been strong. Uncle Dale you are a perfect example of a strong, devoted and kind man and will be missed by all those that you touched. We hold you in our hearts forever. Love, Maria & Michael Rosso, Jessica & Jenna Going

Condolence: A brother……. is someone that can make you want to eat yellow squash even though you hated it. I remember at six years old when Dale came home on leave from the Marines I would just stare at him. He was so handsome, I had a brotherly crush on him. I ate anything he ate-I wanted to be so like him. I’ve grown out of that phase, but my love has grown over the years. Rest in peace brother-Jess Hall

Condolence From: Carl and Juliana Gibson
Condolence: Uncle Dale has always been a hero of mine; serving in the Marine Corps during the Cold War 1950s. Often, I have seen his picture in uniform and used it as a model to live by. The Marine Corps motto “Semper Fi” (always faithful) has served as the guide Uncle Dale used throughout his life. He was always faithful to friends and family. He was and is always faithful to his loving bride of some 62 years, my wonderful Aunt Joann.
I have always been humbled and given the utmost respect to Uncle Dale for all the love and support he and Aunt Joann have extended to my Mama, his oldest sister. They have such a strong brother and sister bond. Uncle Dale is such a tremendous loss for this family. He will be missed so very much. Juliana and I give our heartfelt condolences and wishes for God’s grace to Aunt Joann, Steven, Michael and their families. May you all find peace and strength.

Condolence From: For Edith Colleen Gibson
Condolence: Uncle Dale has been always faithful to his oldest sister all of his life. Often reminding us about how Uncle Dale gave us running water in our home on Stringtown Road in the 1950s and through his support and love as a dear brother all of his life.
Mama would be here today to give her personal love if only she could. But, at the age of 94, traveling has become too difficult for her. She gives all her love to Aunt Joann and Uncle Dale and wishes her heartfelt condolences on Uncle Dale’s passing. He is in Heaven with those whom have gone before and waits for the day to be with us all again. Go with God. With all my love, your dear sister Colleen.

Condolence From: Elmore Family
Condolence: Uncle Dale you and Aunt Joann were always there for everyone. A stabile strong loving example for us all to thrive to emulate. When mama almost died you took her and two of the boys into your home for weeks and nursed her back from deaths door. One can never forget that kind of love, mama surely never has. Your door has always been open to us when needed, you encouraged family gatherings. Mama is the oldest but she looked up to you as her supportive older brother. There are no words for the loss your death has brought into our lives. The younger family members will never know just how much you and Aunt Joann have shaped our family. I will continue taking good care of mama but when her time comes I will trust you will meet her and care for her once again. Go with god. Love Carolyn Rick RJ and Sis Colleen
