Obituary for Christine Hatfield Campbell

On May 14, 2018, Christine Hatfield Campbell, at the age of 74, gave up her earthly body and was reunited with her husband Carlos. Christine was born and raised in Chumuckla, Florida, and at the age of 16 met and married a “Coon Ass” soldier from Rayne, Louisiana, and spent the next 17 years following her career soldier around the country and the world. In 1978, Carlos retired from the Army and they returned to Chumuckla to a quiet peaceful life. They were married 52 years at the time of Carlos’ death in 2013. Christine was the middle child of five children born to Roy and Velvie Hatfield.

She is preceded in death by her father, Roy; mother, Velvie; brother, Charles Hatfield; sister, Doris Crews; and husband, Carlos Campbell.

Christine is survived by two sons, Paul (Laura) and Greg (Reyna); brother, Robert (Christine); sister, Faye (Larry); five grandchildren, Patrick (Shanna), Autumn (Brandon), Nicole (Jonathan), Sarah (Trevor) and Dylan; six great-grandchildren, Aidan, Rylee, Alison, Owen, Colin and Bree; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Chumuckla Community Church, with Rev. Tom Sharron officiating. Burial will follow services at Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home of Milton directing.

Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., prior to the services.
