Carl Francis  Colna
Carl Francis Colna, 80, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Carl was born in Camden, New Jersey May 20, 1937. It was in New Jersey that he met and married his soul mate, Theresa Landolfi, on June 18, 1955. Carl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather/great grandfather (Pop-Pop).



Carl served his country with honor for over 23 years as a Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent in the United States Air Force. A Vietnam veteran, Carl earned the Bronze Star with “V” for his heroic action while deployed. He retired from service as a Senior Master Sergeant in February 1980.

After his military service he and his family settled in Pensacola where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 14 years, retiring in 1999.

Carl was an active parishioner of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 7027.

Carl is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Theresa Joann Colna of Pace, Florida; daughters, Sara Ann Kinnison of Bradenton, Florida, Marsha Bale (Chris), Suzette Matroni (Mike), Wendy Slone (Rodney), and Carolyn Colna-Fragale (Peter), all of Pace, Florida.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Nick Slone, Clint Slone (Adisti), Joe Beshures, Heather Castleman (Nathan), Theresa Meyer (Brad), Tiffany Spiva (Anthony), Alicia Pillow (Jeremy), Jason Christiansen, Adam Slone, Carl Matroni (Ashley), Jessica Osterrieder (Benjamin), Jordan Christiansen, Rachael Slone, and Madison Bale; and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Milton, FL. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., prior to the service. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements.

He will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola. Please meet the family at 10:00 a.m., at the Navy Point Public Boat Ramp (Sunset Avenue and SE Syrcle Drive, Pensacola). We will depart the park promptly at 10:30 a.m., to travel in procession to the base.
