Obituary for
John Justice Perkins Jr.
John Justice Perkins, Jr., 80, of Milton, died early Saturday, April 14, 2018, in the care of Covenant Hospice at Sacred Heart Hospital.
He was born April 10, 1938, in Croton, Ohio, and was proud of his native state. "From a gang leader to a preacher of the gospel” is a remarkable story of God’s call on John’s life. His ministry extended from 1967 – 2018, over fifty years. Dr. Perkins had a bachelor degree, as well as, two earned doctorates in ministry.
John was a Native American and true to his Indian name, “Chief Straight Arrow”, spiritual advisor to the “Métis Mixed Blood.”
On his journey, John served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy, proud of God and Country…. A true patriot!
We salute our friend as a soldier of the cross who was faithful to his calling. His word in testimony and sermon was bound to God’s Word, bringing a light of love and hope to the many who were blessed to hear and know him.
We love you, John.
