Obituary for James M "Mike" Rush

James M. “Mike” Rush, Sr., 68, of Navarre, Florida, passed away, Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at his home. Mike was originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was the youngest son of the late Charles and Helen Rush. He was a member of the 1967 class of Istrouma High School and a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. Mike retired from ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery after 35 years as a Fired Equipment Specialist.

Mike is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Lynette Wascom Rush, originally from Baton Rouge; a son, Mike (Anissa) Rush of Navarre, Florida; a daughter, Kimen (Rusty) Rogers of Orlando, Florida; and five grandchildren, Sean, Kaydence, Lily, Cristian and Riley. Mike is also survived by his brother, Charles; and four nieces, Donna, Dara, Kelly, and Angelle.

Visitation for Mike Rush will be held at noon, Monday, March 19, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home in Navarre, Florida, immediately followed by a funeral service with military honors at 2:00 p.m., the same day. Burial will follow at a later date at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.
