Peggy O’Neil Weathersbee passed from this life on to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

She was born October 10, 1934, in Boone, North Carolina. The majority of Peggy’s life was spent as a military wife which allowed her to travel to many countries, and she and Boats ultimately retired in Milton. Peggy worked with Civil Service at Whiting Field until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ted Homer Hodges and Hazel May Hodges; her brother, Ted Allen Hodges; and her husband of 54 years, G.E. “Boats” Weathersbee.

Peggy is survived by four children, Angie (Miles), Bill (Lyn), Ramona (Larry) and Bob (Stacey); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother and caregiver, Robert; sister, Linda; and many nieces and nephews. She was cared for by her loving brother, Robert, who put his life aside to care for her and to keep her at home with her family throughout her illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Tom Curly officiating.

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
