Obituary for Teresa Caneda Guessford
Teresa Cañeda Guessford, 75, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
Teresa was born in Leyte in the Philippines, the daughter of Marciano and Eduarda Cañeda. She was a devoted wife and mother who was passionate in her work with philanthropic organizations supporting children and seniors in her home country. She was a great blessing to her family in the Philippines, sending nieces and nephews to college, building houses, and supporting them with the recovery effort after Typhoon Haiyan.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Charles Guessford, of Camp Springs, Maryland.
Teresa is survived by a daughter, Charlene Guessford-Kline (Ed) of Hughesville, Maryland; two sons, John Guessford (Joy) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Kleev Guessford (Mark) of Los Angeles, California; granddaughters, Alexandra (Kline) Heintzelman and Cheyenne Guessford; and grandsons, John Pleta and Charlie Kline. Teresa has a large beloved extended family from around the US and siblings, nieces and nephews in the Philippines.
The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre, Florida.
A private interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made in Teresa’s name to the Tim Tebow Foundation Orphan Care, the American Heart Association and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
