Condolence: I think Jim Van Matre summed Mrs. Speed up very well. I, too, was blessed to have Mrs. Speed for my 1st grade teacher, as well as at First Baptist Church Of Gulf Breeze. Mr. and Mrs. Speed and Estelle Bonner were pillars of our community and church and we are all the better for it. You couldn't meet a finer group of people who walked with their Lord on a daily basis. I thank them for my early education and for laying a foundation based on family values and being the best Christian we can be! We will forever miss them but look forward to the day we are all together again! My sincerest thoughts and prayers to Anna, Michael and the entire family. Thank you for sharing them with us. We were so blessed to know them!

Condolence: To family and friends. I am so very sorry for the passing of Hilda Speed, it is always hard to lose someone special. It may be comforting to know that our God Jehovah is also saddened by death and even Jesus gave way to tears at John 11:33,35. Another comforting thought is to know the future of such ones. Isaiah 26:19 tells us about the promise our God has made to us to resurrect our loved ones from death. I hope this has brought you even the slightest comfort, please know that Jehovah the God of all comfort will always be there comforting you through trials (2 Corinthians 1:3,4). Condolence: The city of Gulf Breeze has lost an "era" with the passing of Hilda Speed. All of us kids knew Mr and Mrs Speed from Gulf Breeze Elementary School. Mr. Speed was principal - Mrs. Speed taught 1st grade along with her sister Miss Estelle Bonner. I had Miss Bonner and my twin sister Judy and my older sister Debby had Mrs. Speed. All our community knew. Also their son Michael was my age and he was one of my best pals growing up in Gulf Breeze - at school and also at the First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze. We did everything together as the church was our life as well. AND we not only had these great teachers for 1st grade - those of us at First Baptist had them BOTH in Sunday School in the "Beginner" department.... I can STILL hear them both singing - in my mind's memory the Sunday School Song.... I was glad when they said unto me..... let us go into the house of the Lord.....precious memories!!

Condolence: How I am going to miss my sweet friend. She was a bright spot in my day each Sunday as her eyes would light up and that sweet smile would brighten her face when I opened the door at FBC for the guys to bring her into the sanctuary. I delighted in the way she loved me and made me feel so special. Heaven is a better place to be today because she is there. We have known each other for 71 years and it was my privilege to have her introduce me to my first year of school. She delighted in telling others that she taught me in 1st grade and was in church to celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary with me. She was a special teacher and friend. Thank you Anna for giving your all to her and making her happy in her final years.
