David Lee Manning

David L. Manning, 63, of Pace, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018.

David was born in Milton, Florida, on August 30, 1954, the son of the late Charles and Jonnie (Jernigan) Manning.

David was a strong man in his morals, values and faith. David graduated from Milton High School in 1973; and married Deborah (Thomas) Manning on March 24, 1977. David and Deborah raised two wonderful children and were blessed with three grandchildren they adored. He served 20 years in the United States Army and retired in 1993. After retiring, he worked at Naval Air Station Whiting Field until he retired in 2015. David enjoyed watching birds in the backyard, fishing at the beach for Pompano, loved all types of music, and dancing with his wife and children. Spending time at the table with his family was important to him. He was a remarkable man and he will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his loving father, Charles Manning; mother, Jonnie (Jernigan) Manning; and three brothers, Sanders Eugene Manning, John Carlsye Manning, and Jerry Wayne Manning.

David is survived by his loving wife of almost 41 years, Deborah (Thomas) Manning; two daughters, Tonya, and her husband, Jarett Noa, and Kristie Manning; three grandchildren, Stephen Manning, Sarah Noa and Chloe Nguyen; a brother, Steve, and his wife, Sandy Manning; two sisters, Susan Miller, and Pamela, and her husband, James Pearson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel (4777 West Spencerfield Road, Pace, Florida 32571).
