Obituary for Wanda Jean Smith

Wanda Jean Smith left this earth to go to church in heaven on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at 10:10 a.m.

Wanda was born in Rhodelle, West Virginia, on June 8, 1935. She grew up in coal mining areas with five brothers and sisters. She married Shelby Jackson in 1951, and lived in Hamilton, Ohio, where all four of her children were born. The family transferred to Milton, Florida, in 1964. Wanda moved to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1979, and married Billy Baker, she then moved back to Milton, Florida, in 1981 until his death in 1985. Wanda worked at First National Bank as a Construction Draw Agent until she retired in 1999. Wanda married Hiester Smith in 1991 until present.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Alma Jennings and Garland Williams; brothers and sisters, Carl, Lewis, Betty and Pat; husbands, Shelby and Billy; and her son, Steve.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Hiester Smith, and his children, Hiester, Jr., Pam and Patty; and by her brother Ronnie. She is also survived by her children, Shelby Stephens (husband, Joey), Linda Bacon (husband, Wayman), and Ronnie Jackson (wife, Michelle); and her grandchildren, Roman, Andrea, and her beloved Kendal.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at West Florida Baptist Church in Milton, with Rev. Allen Stewart and Rev. Mike Brown officiating. Burial will follow services in Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be held 1:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
