Obituary for Myrtice O Brabston

Myrtice Brabston 97, of the New Harmony Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

Myrtice was born Feburary 15, 1920, in Holt, Florida, to Walter Daniel Owens and Aldora Alice Cosson. She lived many years in Milton, Florida, before moving to New Harmony, nine years ago, to live with family. She was a retired St. Regis Paper Company employee with over 25 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Florala, Alabama. She also enjoyed the Jimmy Swaggart TV ministry when she was not able to attend church; and Frances and Friends was an everyday enjoyment for her. Myrtice loved to read her Bible and did all she could do to serve the Lord with all her heart.

Myrtice was preceded in death by her husband, George Elmer Brabston.

Myrtice is survived by Wayne and Sandra Love, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Wilbur and Chris Hunt, of New Harmony Community; Claude and Sally Brabston, of Powell, Tennessee; Doug and Karen Brabston, of Columbus, Georgia; Allen and Frances Brabston, of Knoxville, Tennessee; Elaine Owens, of Florala, Alabama, and Leslie M. Shelby, of Pensacola, Florida. Myrtice was deeply loved and cared for by many other family and friends.

Funeral Services for Myrtice will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Charles Lennoard officiating.

Burial will follow services in Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Alex and Chase Hunt, Brandon Hunt, Tom and Ashton Hunt, Virgil Hunt , Larry Hunt, Tony Johnson, Mark Barentine and Caleb Elmore.

The Family would like to thank the Staff of Emerald Coast Hospice for the love and care given to our Aunt Myrt during this time.
