James Edward "Ed"  Elliott


James Edward “Ed” Elliott, 81, of the Elliott Town Community, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017.


He was born March 16, 1936, to the late Hughie Elliott and late Ivy Barnhill Elliott. Ed was a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa County. He was an Army Veteran, was retired from the State of Florida Department of Transportation with 33 and half years of service, and was a member of The Ard Field Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Elliott; father, Hughie Elliott; mother, Ivy Elliott; stepmother, Odell Elliott; and grandson, James Emmett Jr.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Peggy Ann (John) Henderson; two granddaughters, Amy (Seth) Shell and Chelsea (Keith) Stansfield; one grandson, Michael (Megan) Watson; and three great grandsons, Austyn Shell, Heath Watson and Payton Watson; two sisters, Polly Carroll and Peggy (Mike) Cooney; two brothers, Dwan (Jo) Elliott and Robert Elliott; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton, Florida, with Charlie Elliott officiating. Burial will follow services at the Ard Field Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Cooney, Seth Shell, Keith Stansfield and Dwan Elliott.

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.

The family would like to thank Santa Rosa Health and Rehabilitation Center for their love and care given to Ed.
