Obituary for Mary Louise Harrison (Cato)

Mary Louise Cato Harrison passed on to her final rest with the Lord in the morning hours of Saturday, November 25, 2017.

Mary was born, at home, in Bagdad, Florida, on May 27, 1940, and there is where she grew up. Mary had many interests that included poetry and gardening. She loved flowers, but most of all, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Her loving sense of humor stayed with her right up until the very end.

Mary worked at every hospital in Pensacola, Bay Medical in Panama City, Baptist Manor, and Egalson Children’s Hospital in Atlanta as a unit secretary.

Mary is preceded in death by parents, Bernice Cato and Leola Williams Cato; sisters, Catherine Vickrey and Lois Och; brothers, John Cato, Joe Cato and Adrian Cato.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Arthur J. Harrison; sons, John Stow, Ben Stow, Cyrus Stow and Tom Stow; Arthur’s daughters, Melanie Spohn and Theresa Riha; grandchildren, Jillian Stow, Rebecca Stow, Jeremy Stow, Shane and Katrina Stow, Cyrus Stow and Sam Stow, Dillon Riha and Alecia Riha, Savanna Spohn, Garrett Spohn, Dalton Spohn and Sarah Perry; great-grandchildren, Aliyah Stow, Madison Harrison, Isaiah Stow, Alexia Harrison, Cameron Harrison, Brooklyn Stow and Daniel Stow; her sister, Evelyn Bjorngaard; and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Interment will follow services in Bagdad Cemetery.

The family thanks Stat Home Healthcare, Sacred Heart Hospital, Covenant Hospice and Our Holy Cross Episcopal Church family for all their help.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Mary’s name, to the Holy Cross Episcopal Church Memorial Fund (7979 North Ninth Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32514.)
