Obituary for
Lester Donald "Don" Bray
Mr. Lester Donald “Don” Bray, 86, of Pace, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2017.
Mr. Bray was born September 14, 1931, in Columbus, Georgia, to Lester David Bray and Lula A. Morgan Bray. He moved to the Northwest Florida area in 1956, and retired from Monsanto Corporation with over 30 years of service. He was a longtime and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Pace.
Mr. Bray was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served his country during the Korean Conflict. He actively served in the Air Force from 1951-1954, and the Air Force Reserves from 1954-1959. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and three combat stars.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester David and Lula A. Bray; three siblings, Albert Bray, Priscilla Bray and Buster Bray; and his step-mother, Minnie Bray.
Mr. Bray is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Addie Marie Cole Bray; his children, Donna Bray, Lorri Walker, David (Vicki Prescott) Bray, Stacy (Marcus) Brannon, Donnie (Sharon) Wade, Ronney (Brenda) Wade, Vickey Mannis, and Steve (Lydia) Wade; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Thurman Hicks; sister-in-law, Virginia Cole; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church of Pace, with Rev. John Webb officiating.
Burial will follow services in Memory Park Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
