Obituary for Susan Marie Przybylek

Susan Marie Przybylek
Susan Marie Przybylek was born on November 27, 1953, in South Plainfield, New Jersey. In 1982, she turned 29 and miraculously stopped aging. She passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017. She leaves behind her children, Amber Bell, Christian Przybylek, and Jonathon Przybylek, and her brother Ricky Greeson. She’s been reunited with her parents, Thelma Parker Schnitzspahn and Christian William Schnitzspahn, who preceded her in death.

Susan was strong, confident and tenacious. A Registered Nurse, she excelled in her career. As a mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family. When her children were young, she worked the night shift at a nursing home so that she could be home with her kids during the day. She instilled in her children compassion, responsibility and an appreciation for a little bit of mischief. To her parents, she was a devoted daughter. To her friends and family, Susan was an honest, confidant and strong advocate. She stood up for her loved ones and would never hesitate to lend her opinion.

One of Susan’s favorite pastimes was the study of ancient history, especially Egyptian history. She was also an avid artist who worked primarily in oil paints. She would spend many afternoons in her studio painting gardenscapes. Susan modeled her work after impressionist artists. She was especially fond of Renoir, Monet and Cezanne.

Susan met life’s challenges with creativity and grace. In the early 2000s her doctors discovered her first incidence of cancer, that she would later overcome. While fighting cancer, she raised a family as a single mom. She later became a caregiver to her parents, allowing them to maintain independence in their golden years by living at home. Assertive when she needed to be, she was also kind, a good listener and a great story teller. She cared deeply about her family and stood up for others. She was concerned about gun violence, access to healthcare, gender equality and so much more. She is remembered as a strong advocate for her patients, her children and her parents. She faced challenges, uncertainty, and illnesses. Nevertheless, she persisted.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Mike Poston officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Susan Przybylek to The First City Arts Center of Pensacola, Florida.
