Dennis Decad Lunsford, 63, of Milton, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 27, 2017.

Dennis was a native and lifelong resident of Milton. He retired as a Senior Accountant from the Santa Rosa County School Board after 31 years of service.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the “Best darn Santa Claus there ever was!” Dennis loved children dearly and was so patient and attentive to them.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Junior” Percy Lunsford, Jr; and by his wife and the mother of his children, Gail Spencer Lunsford; and by a baby sister, Cornelia Constance Lunsford.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Angie M. Lunsford; children, Amalia “Amy” (Mark) Allen, Spencer (Tiffany) Lunsford, and Brian (Mallory) Claggett; seven grandchildren, Madyux, Keenan, Adolyn, Blythe, Caligail, Drew and Heath; his mother, Earnestine Lunsford; two sisters, Sherra (Tony) Owens and Lorna (Geoff) Murphy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the West Florida Baptist Church (Hwy 90 in Milton) with Anthony Owens and Rev. Mike Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Hickory Hammock Community Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home of Milton directing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Dennis’ name to the ALS Organization (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.)
