Josephine Mary Cross, 90, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017.

Josephine was a native of Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland, and was the fourth of the six children of the late Josephine (Dunne) and John O’Dwyer.

After graduating from St. James Hospital Nursing School in London, she entered Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service and was stationed in Singapore where she met her husband, Peter. She later moved to the United States with her family from England, working in various medical fields throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her five siblings, James, Elizabeth (Moran), Mary (Ringwood), Senan and Gerard.

Josephine is survived by her husband of 62 years, Peter Cross, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; a daughter, Fionnuala (Leonel) Dominguez, of Jacksonville, Florida; a son, Marcus (Kelli) Cross, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and her beloved grandchildren, Falon, Maeve, and Dwyer Dominguez, and Caitlin Cross.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice, Becky Lancaster, and other close friends for the outstanding care given to their wife, mother, and grandmother during her time of illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel, with Father John Kelly officiating. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.
