Roy L. "Jack" Garrison, Jr.
Roy L. “Jack” Garrison, Jr., 73, of Milton, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2017.

He served his country in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. After twenty years of military service, he retired from the U.S. Navy in July 1988 as a Senior Chief (E-8). His duty stations included Miramar, California, Millington, Tennessee (2 tours), Key West, Florida, and Pt. Mugu, California. He served on several aircraft carriers and deployed three times to Antarctica with Operation Deep Freeze. After military retirement and relocating to Milton, Florida, Roy was employed at NAS Whiting Field as an Avionics Electronics Technician. He retired again in 2011 after twenty years of aviation contract maintenance service.

Roy was quick to strike up a conversation and never met a stranger. He was an avid reader, often seen “toting” around more than one book at a time and was especially fond of fiction and U.S. military history. Watching NASCAR races was a favorite pastime -Go Rusty #2!. His easy-going, loving personality will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy L. Garrison, Sr.

Roy is survived by his mother, Lois V. Garrison; his wife of 44 years, Cathy; daughter, Heather (Clay) Heuvelink; son, Shaine (Laura) Garrison; and son, Darin Garrison; grandchildren, Cierra, Shane, Grant, Colin, and Emma; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
