Obituary for Kenneth D. Dellner

Kenneth D. Dellner
Kenneth D. Dellner, 84, of Navarre, Florida, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017. A native of Mamaroneck, New York, he attended F.E. Bellows High School, and he received baseball and basketball scholarship from the University of Rhode Island, where he studied business administration. On November 9, 1957, he married Bette Brady, and they raised three children in Mamaroneck. Once their children were grown, the couple moved to Navarre, Florida, in 1992.

Ken’s career included work at Tennents, Polytemp, New York Telephone, PepsiCo, and National Engineering, as well as the electrical company he operated in Florida. He served as secretary for the Northwest Florida Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.

Ken was always ready to lend a hand. He was a volunteer fireman for 47 years, rising to the rank of chief at fire departments in both New York and Florida. He was also an active member of his church community, including donating his electrical skills to assist in church maintenance.

Ken is survived by Bette Dellner, his wife of 59 years; his sister, Arlene Brehmer; son, Kevin Dellner, his wife Dawn Dellner, and their three sons, Brian, Kevin, and Christopher; son Peter Dellner; and daughter Eileen Brown, her husband Sheawn Brown, and their three children, Shannon, Lauren and Jason. He was devoted to his family and his community, and he will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to thank all the members of St. Peter Catholic Church for their love and support.
Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 100 Francis Street, Mary Ester, Florida.

Interment will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ken’s name, to St. Peter Catholic Church, Holley-Navarre Fire Department, or the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department.
