1951 - 2017

James I. “Jim” Wood, Jr., of Pace, formerly of Pensacola, passed away at Life Care Center of Pensacola, on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the age of 65.

Jim was born in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, and attended high school in Arlington, Virginia. He married Wanda Wood on March 31, 1976. Jim was a longtime resident of Pensacola, moving to Pace in 2014. Jim owned Professional Transmission Service in Milton, Florida, from 1988 until he retired in 2016. Afterwards, he worked as financial manager for his son’s, Cory, utility construction business until 2017.

Jim attended Liberty Church North Campus in Pensacola. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. Jim's goal in life was to touch the lives of other people in a positive way. He achieved his goal.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, James I. Wood, Sr. and Donna L. Wood; and a sister, Susan Marie Wood Peters.

Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda; their two sons, James Cory Wood, of Pensacola, and Andrew Radway Wood, of Daphne, Alabama; five grandchildren, Gaven Browning, and Gabrielle, Madison, Zachary, and Isaac Wood, of Pensacola; two sisters, Donna Jean Wood, of Elberton, Georgia, and Margaret Brady, of Beulah; one brother, Robert Wood, of Pensacola; nine nieces and nephews; eleven great-nieces and great-nephews; and many in-laws.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel (6405 Hwy. 90 West, Milton, FL 32570.) Visitation will be held 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.
