Elizabeth Ates (Fuller)
Elizabeth Fuller Ates, 84, of Milton, passed away on Friday morning, June 23, 2017.
Mrs. Ates was born the third of five children, to Robert Fuller and Crader Cooley Fuller, in Munson, Florida. While growing up, she lived in a number of places across the country due to her father’s military career. She would later find herself moving back to the Milton area.
Mrs. Ates received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University. She worked diligently with numerous families in the area in their endeavor to adopt children. She also wrote a column “Betty’s Bloopers” for the Milton Press Gazette for many years. Mrs. Ates was a Charter Member of Olivet Baptist Church of Milton.

Mrs. Ates is survived by her son, Mark (Sharon) Ates of Jay, Florida; her daughter, Nancy (Daniel) Haan, of Ocala, Florida; four grandchildren, Jamie Martinez, Joseph Ates, Heather Ferguson, and Stacey Staffa; three great grandchildren, Jonathon Staffa, Amelia Staffa and David Soto.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Ates will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. William Milam officiating. Burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, directing.
The family will begin receiving friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to services on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the church.
