Obituary for Warren G. Threats Jr.

Warren G. Threats Jr.

Warren G. Threats, Jr., affectionately known as “Little Brother” and "Grampa", was born in Elaine, Arkansas on September 26, 1941, to Sarah Ratliff and Warren G. Threats, Sr. He departed this life on Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Navarre, Florida, to go be with the Lord.

In 1946, when Warren was 5 years old, the family moved to Kansas City. Warren attended Kansas City Public schools from 1947 to 1959. However, during the summer months Warren spent the summers in Lambert, Arkansas, with his grandma and grandpa, along with some of his cousins - Girtha Mitchell, Viola Crayton, and some others. Warren was an adventurous child, "full of trickery" as described by one of his favorite cousins, Girtha Mitchell.

As a high school freshman (1955), he met and became best friends with Wilbur Neal and Henry Freeman Williams. While his best friends went into auto mechanics, Warren studied tailoring at the Manual Vocational Technical School, working throughout his high school years at several different local dry cleaners, honing his sharp dressing skills. In that same year, his mother Sarah married Elijah Knight, Sr.

After high school Warren worked local jobs in the Kansas City area and trained to be an over the road truck driver. In 1964 he moved to Chicago and took a truck-driving job with Metropolitan Wholesale where he worked for the next 10 years.

In 1975, he moved back to Kansas City and started working for Owens Corning Fiberglass as a Fork Lift operator. During this time, he linked back up with Wilbur and Freeman and joined the Zodiac Motor Cycle Club. With the Zodiacs he traveled the country attending the National Bikers Roundup (NBR) each year.

In 1986, he moved to California and held various jobs. Warren relocated to Las Vegas in 1996 where he met Marcia Peterson (Montrealle). They knew immediately that she would become Mrs. Threats, only taking 14 years to manifest.

In 1999, Warren welcomed his granddaughter Kianna (Montrealle). He subsequently relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2002 to be closer to her. In 2006, Warren welcomed his grandson, Julius.

For several years he traveled between Georgia, Missouri and Florida; finally calling Navarre, Florida, his permanent residence. In 2008, he joined New Life Deliverance Temple Church, under the leadership of Bishop Mark and Apostle Brenda Williams, whereas Warren & Marcia sealed their love for God and each other by wedding in May 2011.

Warren was preceded in death by his loving mother and stepfather, Sarah and Elijah Knight, Sr.

Warren Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Marcia Peterson Threats; his father, Warren G. Threats Sr of Grantville, Georgia; his daughter, Montrealle (Julius) Parker; his grand children, Kianna and Julius Parker; his sisters, Laura (Ben) Tate of Grandview, Missouri, and Sarita (Bill) Hunter of Lee's Summit Missouri; his brother, Elijah Edward (Marcenia) Knight Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sisters, Brenda (Major) Hollister of Newnan, Georgia, Linda Thompson of Newnan, Georgia, Christine Rolle of Newnan, Georgia, and Shirley Threats of Little Rock, Arkansas; his brothers, Warner Lee (Vanessa) Threats of Detroit, Michigan, and Tommie Threats of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017, at New Life Deliverance Temple Church (2105 Panhandle Trail, Navarre, Florida 25526) with Elder Alicia Pettus officiating.

The viewing times will be Family: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Friends 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre, has been entrusted with arrangements.
