Gerald Olen "Jerry" Kilpatrick

Gerald “Jerry” Olen Kilpatrick, 75, of Chumuckla, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 13, 2017.

Jerry was born on December 16, 1941, in Chumuckla, Florida, and lived there his entire life. He graduated from Chumuckla K-12 School, and worked at American Cyanamid/Cytec and then at Griswold Farms upon retiring.

Jerry was a devoted husband, a doting father, and an adoring grandfather and great-grandfather. A naturally gifted storyteller, he was blessed with the gift of gab and never knew a stranger. He was a good-natured jokester who always wore a welcoming smile and induced hearty laughs from everyone in his presence. He was generous of himself and his time and he was always willing to the go the extra mile to lend a helping hand wherever one was needed. Jerry was a kind and tenderhearted man who was deeply loved, genuinely respected, and sincerely admired; he will be missed by all those who were blessed to know him.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father and mother, Willie Allen and Myrtle Mae Kilpatrick; his brother, Rodney Herbert Kilpatrick; and his nephew, Herbert Ryan Kilpatrick.

He is survived by his wife, Tryllis Kilpatrick; his children, Karla and Robert Germann, Allen and Angie Kilpatrick, Alana and Gordon Howell, Chris Huggins, and Tim Huggins; his grandchildren, Adam and Richelle, Keith and Hannah, Brandon and Bonita, Casey and Rachel, Damon and Alisha, Nolan and Morgan, Mitchell and Magan, Hannah, and Haley; his great-grandchildren, Alana, Braydan, Kelsen, Leland, Jase, Mali, Tambrey, Trace, Tucker, Madison, Braydon, Bristol, and Lincoln; and his nieces, Renee and Rhonda.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Chumuckla Community Church with Pastor Tom Sharron and Donnie Sowell officiating. Interment will follow in Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery. Lewis Funeral Home, Pace, directing.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Chumuckla Community Church.

Jerry’s family is honored to have his grandsons serving as his pallbearers: Damon and Nolan Frady, Adam and Keith Germann, and Brandon and Casey Kilpatrick.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Creel, Adam and Ben Ellison, Paul and Tyler Griswold, Chris and Tim Huggins, and Darrell Paul.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Sunnenberg, Nancy Hatcher, and the oncology nurses at Sacred Heart Hospital.
