The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Craig Nettles can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Craig D. Nettles

Craig D. Nettles
Craig Dempsey Nettles, 40, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2017. He fought the good fight. He finished his race.

Craig is preceded in death by his mother, Jane; uncles Wayne & Tommy Weekley; grandparents, Gilbert Weekley, and Dempsey and Shirley Nettles.

He is survived by his daughter, Allie; wife, Leighann; father, Byron (Brenda) Nettles; sister, Christa (Michael) Spooneybarger; nephews, Karson and Peyton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Craig loved his family and he loved the Lord. He struggled with addiction his whole life – but he knew Jesus, he was loved by Jesus, and he’s home in Heaven with Jesus now. Those who knew Craig knew his heart was pure and full of love. He would help anyone at any time, no matter the cost. He was truly a good person, flaws and all. He will be missed greatly.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Pace Assembly of God. Family visitation at 11:00 a.m.; friends at 11:30 a.m.; and service at 1:00 p.m. Lewis Funeral Home, Pace, has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waterfront Rescue Mission or Pathways for Change treatment facilities.
