Originally from Long Island, New York, he was one of two children born to Edward Joseph and Sarah Nolan. He served ten years in the U. S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.

After his service in the military, he became a Federal Fire Fighter and retired for the first time after 22 years. Ed also worked for an additional ten years at Christian Life Church in Milton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Joseph; and his wife of 37 years, Carol Ann Nolan.

Ed is survived by his mother, Sarah F. Nolan; his sister, Carol (Bill) Kassten; his third wife, Sandra K. Nolan; two daughters, Carrie (Butch) Laboutraus, and Rebecca (Tony) Reinhart; one son; Timothy John (Corie) Nolan; five granddaughters; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel (6405 Hwy 90, Milton, Florida).

Funeral Services for Ed will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2016, at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church (8351 Hickory Hammock Road, Milton, Florida) with Rev. Edward Lieber officiating.

Ed will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors and Lewis Funeral Home directing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jamal Joudeh, Oncologist, and his wonderful staff of RNs and other staff members at the Infusion Center at the Woodlands, and the nursing staff of the sixth floor at West Florida Hospital for their compassionate and supportive care.

In lieu of flowers, we hope you will make a donation to a charity that Ed supported for many years: the Christian Appalachian Project, P.O. Box 1768, Paintsville, KY 41240. They help feed and clothe the poorest of our country. Thank you.
