Obituary for Joseph Hiram Ianniello

Joseph Hiram Ianniello
Joseph “Joey” Hiram Ianniello

December 2, 1989 – July 6, 2016

Joseph “Joey” Ianniello died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 in Pensacola, Florida, after a brief illness. Joey was 26 years old. He was born in San Diego, California, was a 2007 graduate of Poway High School, and was a member of the wrestling team. He attended Santa Barbara Community College where he studied economics. Joey relocated recently to Florida to be closer to his family and resided in Pace, Florida. He was a long-time resident of Poway, California, and had many close friends there.

Joey’s surviving loved ones include his parents, CDR (ret.) Joseph “Joe” A. Ianniello and Karen Bush Ianniello of Pace, Florida; his sister, Angelina “Angie” Ianniello of Pace; younger brother Louis “Louie” Ianniello of Wichita Falls, Texas; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Voncille (Hannon) Bush of Pace, Florida; six uncles, Michael (Kate) Ianniello, Louis (Michele) Ianniello, Jules (Becky) Ianniello, Peter (Mary) Ianniello, Gregory (Suzanne) Bush, and Gary (Deborah) Bush; cousins, Daniel (Allison), Paul, Amy, Allie, Mikaela, Luca, Domiano, Santino, Martine, Bella, A.J., Mary Elizabeth, Thomas, Ashley, Nicholas, Nicole, Louis and Mike; great uncles and great aunts, Anthony and Trisha Ianniello, Louis and Flo Eliseo, Ronnie and Betty Bush, Jerry and Nell Hannon.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Joseph D. Ianniello and Susan (Eliseo) Ianniello of Mechanicville, New York; his great grandparents, Hiram and Rosalie (Lindsey) Bush, Samuel Roy and Ida (Rich) Hannon, Louis and Antonia “Antoinette” (Sparagna) Ianniello, and Giulio and Angelina (Pistecchia) Eliseo. Joey will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins located throughout the country.

Joey worked in Pace at First Class Plumbing, learning the trade, and said he had a fondness for, as he put it, “playing with adult Legos”. His interests outside of work were varied. He was an avid bicyclist, and shared this interest with his father. He also enjoyed camping trips, spending time with his family, reading, and discussing economics and art, especially Thomas Coles’ work, “The Voyage of Life.” He had a desire for knowledge, and loved learning. He was known by his family and friends as being a loving, loyal and faithful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel, with Rev. Laddie Pierce officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. (prior to services) on Saturday at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel. Joey’s ashes will be interred with his loved ones at a later date.

As Joey would have wished, the family has donated organs and tissue to The University of Miami and the future physicians at the University of Alabama to help others live on.

The family asks that you please consider donations to the Quest for Grace Foundation, 1482 Erie Blvd., Schenectady, NY 12305 (questforgrace.com) in lieu of flowers. This organization is very near and dear to the family. It is a charity created to assist foster children and foster parents in need.
