Obituary for Robert Quesinberry

Robert “Bob” Joseph Quesinberry was born, November 9, 1940, in Bassett, Virginia, to Coda and Mae Quesinberry. He grew up in Bassett and attended Virginia Tech University where he played basketball and baseball.

In 1963, Bob began active duty in the US Army and served his Country honorably. He was a Huey helicopter pilot and ran many infantry insertion missions during his two tours in the Vietnam War and his one tour in Korea. His bravery and dedication during his service earned him the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal among others. He retired with honors from the US Army as a Colonel in 1990.

Upon retiring from the army, he moved to Pace, Florida with his wife of 45 years Elizabeth Joanne Quesinberry. He was very active at the First United Methodist Church in Milton, Florida. Bob was avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife and playing with his seven grandchildren. Bob never met a stranger and was known for helping anyone he came in contact with.

Bob passed away on September 21, 2015 from cancer.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joanne Quesinberry; his three sons, Carl Quesinberry (Leah), Rob Quesinberry (Vanessa) and Scott Quesinberry (Marli), seven grandchildren, Gabe, Brett, Cole, Austin, Devon, Coleson and James; one sister, Mary Ann Plaster (Harold); other cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015, First United Methodist Church of Milton with Rev. Kathy Knight and Rev. Gerald Shelton officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola NAS.
