Former Milton , Florida resident Frederick X. (Teddy) Young, Jr., 28, died unexpectedly in Douglasville , Georgia on March 27, 2012.

Teddy was born December 23, 1983, to parents Frederick X. (Ted) Young and Barbara (King) Young and was the eldest of three boys.

He served in the United States Army from Oct 2002 through May 2007 as a M1 Abrams armor crewman achieving the rank Specialist 4th Grade, including two tours in Iraq, first in May 2003 through July 2004 and then again January 2006 through February 2007. Awards and decorations include: The Army Commendation Medal (2 Oak Leaves), The Army Achievement Medal, United States Armed Forces Presidential Unit Citation, The Army Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3 Oak Leaves), Driver and Mechanic Badge.

Teddy was most recently living in Douglasville, GA attending ITT Technical Institute, studying Computer Network Systems. He enjoyed cooking and sharing his dishes with family and friends. He also enjoyed helping people and was passionate about music and writing. He loved and appreciated his family, and nothing gave him more pleasure than sharing time and memories with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.



Teddy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James A. and Jane A. Young of Milton, FL and his maternal grandfather, Archie King of Panama City, Fl. He is survived by his parents, Frederick X. (Ted) Young, Sr. and Barbara King Young, his brothers, John & Rachel (Mitchell) Young and Paul Young, all currently of Milton; maternal grandmother, Frances King, Panama City, Florida, Michael & Brenda King of Gulf Breeze, FL, Susan (King) & David Blankenship of Panama City, FL, Janice (Young) Williams, of Atlanta, GA, James A. & Karen (Weekly) Young of Milton, FL, Teresa (Young) Pierce of Pace, FL, John & Julie Young, Dallas, TX, Paul and Sonja (Kimbrough) of Milton, FL and Maureen (Young) & Kevin White, Pensacola, FL as well as 14 cousins.

Visitation will be at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, Monday, April 2nd from 5 – 7 pm. A memorial service will be held at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Milton, on Tuesday, April 3rd at 10 am with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
